Q: I broke up with my long-term boyfriend almost a year ago. We still talk on the phone occasionally, but he keeps texting me with private jokes (lines from movies we both like, etc). These come very randomly, at times after not talking for about a month. What's the deal?
A: I wouldn’t read too much into this one or you’ll end up a step back. Assume he’s just a random texter. If you’re not into it, give 1 word responses or no response and he’ll hopefully stop. He may be testing the waters, but if he’s not man enough to call and talk about what’s really on his mind, then forget it.
