Q: So, here's my problem. I meet these guys, right? They seem great - funny, smart enough, we share similar interests - it's all good. Then, after maybe a week or two, they start talking about "the future" and getting a house together one day, or they'll say, "You know I like you, right? I really reeeeally like you." This has happened with the last four guys I've gone out on dates with, and it's starting to freak me out. Two weeks, for me, is too soon to be talking like that and making them my boyfriend, like they're asking. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to have a great boyfriend, but I want to work up to that. ANYWAY! As this isn't an isolated incident, I'm wondering if a) this is considered normal guy behavior these days and just new to me? and b) what am I doing to attract guys like this, and how can I can attract awesome, non-clingy guys (if any still exist)? Please help!

A: It’s not normal! It’s actually the opposite! On the first date, talk about your independence and how you like to move slowly. No reason to make them guess! You don’t have to say it outright but just slip it into conversation. Sometimes guys think that’s what the girl wants and he rushes in. So just coyly let him know you’re not one of those girls!!

Good luck.
