Q: I went on a date that was terrible. He texted after and I texted back just to be nice. Now he won't stop updating me on his mundane life. Next time should I just not text back in the first place?

A: You can either be really mature and let him know that you just didn't feel the chemistry, or you can just not text back and hopefully he reads between the lines. The former is definitely nicer but it's harder and sometimes you just can't motivate to be that nice!

Q: How many times do you go on a date before you give up on the connection?

A: If there's no connection whatsoever after 2, call it. If there's a little something, give it a 3rd.

Q: How many times do I have to tell my gf I love her a day? She's complaining that I only tell her at bedtime.

A: She should feel it all day long whether you're telling her or just calling since you were thinking about her. Sorry for the gush.

You could sprinkle a few more in but no need to say it just to say it.

Q: How do I keep up with my way too active girlfriend? She keeps wanting to go on runs and train for races. I prefer the gym for 20 minutes with a tv. Can I tell her to do the races on her own even though I was pretending to like them?

A: You should come clean and let her know it's not your favorite hobby but still compromise. Maybe run for 20 minutes but do it outside or go on a longer walk. Or do a spin class together – still in the gym but longer and harder. Hopefully she still likes you!

Q: My boyfriend lives in England and I'm trying to think of some really great things to include in the care package for him. Do you have any great ideas?

A: Food is always good - candy, cookies, etc.
One of your pillowcases
A Moosejaw tee, of course
A love letter
A mixed tape
His favorite movie or tv series on DVD
What do you think?!

Q: I can't tell if what is developing is simply a closer friendship, or something on a romantic level. I'm afraid to talk to him about my feelings because I've already been the one to express my interest twice before and I don't want to spoil the friendship or scare off the romantic relationship. The more I know him, the more I want to date him, but I don't want to wait around for nothing. Is it possible a guy can just need time and have to truly "ease" into a relationship, or is that just a sign that he's just not that into me?

A: I would let him make the next move at this point. You've done your part and he knows you're interested. Having said that, don't back up at all, just don't make another move until he gives you a reason to.

Q: A 'friend' of mine recently back stabbed me with a girl, we'll call her Julie. I was interested in Julie and one day saw my 'friend' talking to Julie so I asked him a few times if he was going after and he said no. Well on the day of her birthday I go to ask her out only to find out she has been seeing my friend. I also hear from her friends that my 'friend' told Julie that I wasn't interested in her. Now my 'friend' is seeing another girl on the side. What should I do; Blow up his spot, or leave it alone?

A: This friend kinda sucks. Is he still seeing Julie? If yes and you're still really into her, keep in touch with her but no need to full on blow up his spot or you may be seen as the bad guy. Either way, she'll figure him out soon and get rid of him. Then you can move in.

Q: Who is the girl on the back of the tops only catalog? She is so beautiful. If I were not so old, ugly, poor and married I would drive to your store and ask her to marry me.

A: She happens to love guys who are old, ugly and poor. Too bad for the married thing. LMK if you get divorced.
