Q: So here's the deal. Met a guy 2 weeks ago and we both fell like *that*. I'm 32 & he's 27; we know this doesn't happen everyday. Now he's off doing research on a boat in the middle of the ocean. Two days after he gets back, I go teach in this very remote (and ridiculously expensive-to-visit) Arctic town and don't come back till September. After that we'll be back in the same town. We both agree that despite the madness of it all (and despite the fact that we obviously don't know each other THAT well yet), we want to try to keep things going throughout the summer and not see other people. Any suggestions for how to not mess this one up?

A: Wow. That sounds hard to do! If you’re both into it though, you can do it.

Lots of texts, emails, some phone calls, letters (yes, by mail!), surprise presents and maybe even a surprise visit if at all possible.

You have to keep up the communication and you can’t give the other person any reason to lose trust in each other and in the end result (together at last kinda thing).

Oh, and make those 2 in between days count. Try to spend as little time possible getting acquainted again.

You have to keep the spark even will millions of miles between you from now thru September.

Love the Madness,
DG
